Senior Management Team
New-Indy is led by a senior management team with decades of experience and expert knowledge in the pulp, paper and packaging industries.

Dr. Richard Hartman
Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Richard Hartman has more than 40 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry and joined the Kraft Group in 2009. He has industry experience in process and technical engineering, product development, marketing, manufacturing, multi-site management, capital project management and business leadership. He played a key role in the formation of New-Indy and was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the joint venture in 2012. At New-Indy, Dr. Hartman is responsible for organizational leadership, mill operations and strategic growth assessment.

Scott Conant
Chief Financial Officer
Scott Conant has more than 30 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry and joined New-Indy in 2013. Upon joining the joint venture, Conant spent four years as the general manager of the Ontario, Calif. Mill before being appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2017. He played a key role in the consolidation of the paper packaging businesses and in strategic planning for continued company growth and expansion.

Ron Sessions
President, Carolina Container
Ron Sessions has more than 40 years in the paper and packaging industry and joined New-Indy as President of Carolina Container in 2015 after the joint venture’s acquisition of the company. Sessions joined Carolina Container in 2000 as Chief Operating Officer and was appointed President and CEO in 2002. He has industry experience in corrugated packaging, specialty packaging, graphics, POP displays, digital printing, assembly and fulfillment.

Todd Crowell
President, New-Indy TriPAQ
Todd Crowell has more than 30 years of experience in the containerboard packaging industry and joined New-Indy as President of TriPAQ in 2017 following the joint venture’s acquisition of the company. Previously, he held various roles for Rand-Whitney and Schwarz Partners, including vice president of operations, region vice president, general manager, plant manager, national account sales and continuous improvement manager.
The Kraft Group
Headquartered in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the Kraft Group is the holding company for the Kraft family’s various businesses, with concentrated interests in five areas: paper and packaging manufacturing and the distribution of forest products; sports and entertainment; real estate and development; private equity investing and philanthropy. The paper and packaging division is comprised of the Rand-Whitney Group, International Forest Products and New-Indy Containerboard. Aggregated together, these companies would rank in the top five of all paper, packaging and distribution companies in the United States. Conducting business in more than 100 countries, the Kraft Group forms one of the largest privately-owned paper, packaging and distribution companies in the world, trading more than 4 million tons of pulp and paper grades annually.
Schwarz Partners
Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, Schwarz Partners, LP is a privately owned company with a focus on corrugated products and logistics. The Royal Group, the packaging division of Schwarz Partners, services customers in the automotive, agriculture, industrial manufacturing and consumer goods industries throughout North America and consists of 33 locations, 12 of which are corrugated box and sheet plants. Schwarz Partners is also considered the largest producer of sheets in the U.S. with interests in 11 sheet feeder corrugator plants. Together, the sheet feeders and the corrugator box plants currently consume approximately 1.5 million tons of containerboard annually. Venture Logistics, the supply chain management company of Schwarz Partners, consists of 1,000 tractors, a brokerage division moving 2,000 loads per week and more than 1 million square feet of warehouse and cross dock space.
